Kansas Bound: Mennonites and Modernity Conference

I’m headed to Bethel College, Kansas early in the morning. Here’s the schedule:

Thursday, June 24 7:00pm – 8:30pm
The Kauffman Museum-Ichan Kala Museum Partnership is hosting Uzbek Scholar Diloram Inoyatova and I for a reception at the museum. I’ll be signing books and reconnecting with other Great Trekkers. The Kauffman Museum is located at 27th & North Main in North Newton, KS 67117.


Saturday, June 26 1:30 – 2:30pm

Mennonites and Modernity conference presentation in the Bethel College Mennonite Church sanctuary. I’ll be speaking about how the Mennonites of the Great Trek had a modernizing effect on the Silk Road kingdom of Khiva. http://www.bethelks.edu/mennosandmodernity/index.php
